General Protection Fault Error While Installing
When installing the course, it displays errors like "isinst30 caused an Illegal Operation in module _ins0433._mp", Error 502 etc. This error happens when an application running on the computer conflicts with the Installshield program. Please do the following if you are a Windows 95/98/NT user: 1. Hold down the CTRL+ALT+DELETE keys to bring up the Close Program window. 2. Select the following program that appears on your list, and press the End Task button to disable it. - MSWHEEL - ARMON32 - FindFAST 3. Repeat #2 until all programs are disabled that appear on the above list (NOTE: Sometimes it takes a few tries to actually make the programs end).
Screen "Hanging" After Course Is Installed
After installing the CBT, when launching the product, the screen hangs or shows an error "Unable to read from drive D:\......" The CD-ROM is required to RUN the CBT. This behavior is usually noticed when the correct CD-ROM is missing from the drive or the wrong drive is selected. Please insert the correct CD-ROM and check that the letter drive you are using corresponds to the CD-ROM drive, and launch the CBT again.
Display Problems
What is wrong if I am viewing the course or quiz screen and the buttons are hidden or overlapped by text or other images on the screen? The course is designed to for a 640x480-screen resolution & small fonts. On some machines higher resolutions could cause the text boxes to move. Change the font size first. If that doesn't resolve the problem, change the resolution to 640x480. For help on changing fonts or resolution, please refer to Windows help.
When I run the CBT it displays a screen which is cut on the right and the bottom. How can I rectify this?
The CBT is designed to run in 640x480 mode or 800x600 with small fonts. Check the display properties and ensure that you are using small fonts and restart your computer. For help on changing fonts or resolution, please refer to Windows help.
Audio
I just received a Multimedia product. Why doesn't the audio work? Only selected courses have audio. If the root of your CD-ROM directory has an AUDIO directory then the product contains audio. If you are uncertain whether or not your CD contains audio, please check your speakers by using another application that does contain sound, then contact technical support.
Username and/or Password
I don't know my username or password. How do I get it? When the course asks for a username and password, you can choose anything you wish. However, make sure you chose something you can remember. The course will use that name and password to "Bookmark" your place in the course.
"File Not Found" or "Unable To Write to File" Errors
If you are using floppy disks, the Floppy Disk Drive is unable to read the disks or there is a disk corruption. Try using another machine to install the course and if this error repeats, request replacement disks. If you are using a CD-ROM version, check to make sure the CD is in the drive. If your error is not resolved by this, please contact technical support.
